Childhood's Dreams

Zaelia Bishop was born November 1977 in Rome. He starts the slow self-taught approach to the figurative arts as underground comics designer and illustrator of self-produced records covers. Definitively shined by the '900 vanguards, he starts oil and acrylic painting, photography, illustration and collage techniques following a confusionary way of producing art which remains inalterable even in the digital re-elaborations which are assembling, mixing and regenerating all other techniques.

The technical choice is often bended to the tactile sensation of the idea and to how much this one needs the rough concrete being of materials or the digital elaboration. A parting, anyway, not that clean. All components which compose the works comes from reality and have engraved on their own the signs and marks which reminds to human dimension. So in some ways is a sort of dig up-and-bring to light process, about rough memories [or false memories], childhood's dreams and fear feelings of the gorgeous Unknow.

Since summmer '04 is a member of Collective Fish-Tank and he is actually involved in the fish-tank videoproject called Lonesome Condominium. He's actually [secretly] working at Garden In A Red Suitcase escape plan.

Lastly he really loves icecream, old anatomy handbooks, the Victorian Age, cats and Sinking Ship's matches.
