Magda Wolna. I: have graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts, live in Poznań, have a cool dog

make portraits
fill in moments
like red, pink and green
take photos to capture moments and come back to them making monotypies. It's like returning to a fairytale long gone. That's a nice feeling.
People have always been inspiring me. I mean mostly those who surround me, but sometimes also film characters, faces with expressive features. And I love color.

I am fond of the Kisiel monotypies. It's already been 6 years since then! It's a series for the club's first anniversary. Friends, frequent visitors, familiar faces... that was a good time.

30 pieces make up this work. 30 glances at the same situation. Monika, wearing dreadlocks at that time, and Kinga are sitting at the table, talking. Somebody joins them, a figure passes their table. I watch them reflected in a mirror (Mateusz dragged it from a bin on the Polna St.) The girls have their faces painted white, just as the actors in the Bugraku, the Japanese theatre (I am fascinated by the art and culture of the Far East).
2005/6
The story with the dog has a traumatic beginning, but it was followed by an avalanche of actions and reflections. I feel the urge to share my story. I turn my emotions, thoughts and associations into embroidery and paintings. That makes my soul diary.
