Scott Radke is from Cleveland, Ohio where he currently lives, works and shares a studio space with his wife and collaborator, modern dance choreographer, Sarah Morrison. His work has been shown locally and nationally, throughout the US and Canada. In Tremont and Ohio City neighborhoods in the form of murals/graffiti, and 20+ spray-painted chickens featured on various sidewalks and walls. Radke has been included in group shows; amongst others, the CB's 313 gallery (NYC), many galleries in the Tremont ArtWalk (OH) and the ArtCade (OH) and also participated in 48 Hours of Art at the B. K. Smith Gallery. Solo shows held at Doubting Thomas gallery and Gallery 615. More than 12 puppets will be featured in a film starring Thomas J. Ryan, directed by Kathleen Harty. While currently focussing on marionettes and stylized drawings, Radke is also recognized for his sand sculpture/photography, which has been published in the Sunde Un Seele, the Cleveland Plain Dealer, and Savage magazine. He received the Barbara Luton first place award for a photograph depicting his sand creation of a woman reclining on the water's edge of Lake Erie. Radke also created sand sculptures for the site-specific dance, Erie Sirens, which was performed at sunset at Edgewater park beach. He has been commissioned for visual work in theatrical presentations produced by the Cleveland Public Theater and the Food For Thought dance project. Much of his training comes from trial and error practice, and he is greatly influenced by his life-drawing teachers, and local as well as world known artists such as Edward Gorey, Tim Burton, and Brothers Quay. He is currently preparing for a solo show to be held this year in Bay City, Michigan.

Jego prace wystawiane są zarówno lokalnie jak i na całym terenie Stanów Zjednoczonych i Kanady. W Tremont i okolicach Ohio City można zobaczyc malowidła ścienne i grafitti, np. w postaci ponad 20 kur, namalowanych aerozolem na chodnikach i ścianach. Radke brał udział w wystawach grupowych w galerii CB's 313 (NYC), wielu galeriach Tremont ArtWalk (OH) i ArtCade (OH). Uczestniczył także w "48 Hours of Art" w B. K. Smith Gallery. Wystawy indywidualne w galeriach Doubting Thomas i Gallery 615. Ponad 12 lalek będzie w nowym filmie z Thomasem J. Ryan w reżyserii Kathleen Harty. Poza kreacją marionetek i stylizowanych rysunków artysta jest też znany ze swoich rzeźb z piasku i ich fotografii, publikowanych w Sunde Un Seele, Cleveland Plain Dealer i Savage magazine. Nagrodzony pierwszą nagrodą Barbary Luton za zdjęcie rzeźby piaskowej przedstawiającej kobietę leżącą na brzegu jeziora Lake Irie. Radke wykonał dekoracje do tańca Erie Sirens, odegranego o zachodzie słońca w nadbrzeżnym parku Edgewater, na zlecenie Cleveland Public Theater i dla projektu tanecznego Food For Thought. Dużo się nauczył "na własnych błędach" ale wielki wplyw mieli też wykładowcy rysunku anatomicznego, artyści miejscowi jak i ci na skalę światową: Edward Gorey, Tim Burton czy Brothers Quay. Scott Radke przygotowuje się teraz do wystawy indywidualnej, która odbedzie się w tym roku w Bay City, Michigan. |
