Mini Gallery Joshua Gorchov
I get started early. Before sunrise. I make very strong coffee, get settled in the studio, and paint for most of the day. I paint on Poplar wood panels with Golden Acrylics. I live with my girlfriend, Ellen, in Northern California. We met at California College of the Arts, both of us studying graphic design. We graduated at the same time, and our last names are alphabetically sequential, so we got to sit next to each other during the ceremony. That was a while ago now. Time goes by really fast these days. We live between the mountains and the ocean, so we spend weekends hiking or exploring the foggy coast. Joshua Gorchov is a full-time illustrator, drawing and painting every day. He graduated from California College of the Arts with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in graphic design, and is currently working on both editorial and advertising assignments. His work responds to a broad range of subjects with a distinctive graphic language which is both vivid and conceptually concise. Recent clients include: Rolling Stone, The Village Voice, The New York Times, United Airlines, Fallon Worldwide, Stanford Business Magazine, The Kansas City Star, Doppler Records, Folio: Magazine, Yoga Journal.
Zaczynam dzień wcześnie. Przed świtem. Robię sobie bardzo mocną kawę, zasiadam w studio, i maluję prawie przez cały dzień. Maluję na desce topolnej farbami akrylowymi Golden. Żyję razem z moją dziewczyną, Ellen, w Kaliforni Połnocnej. Poznaliśmy się na studiach w California College of the Arts, studiowaliśmy razem grafikę. Równocześnie kończyliśmy, nasze nazwiska układają się alfabetycznie, a więc siedzielismy obok siebię podczas uroczystości wręczenia dyplomów. Od tych wydarzeń minęło już trochę czasu. Teraz czas płynie bardzo szybko. Mieszkamy pomiędzy górami a oceanem, w weekendy łazimy po górach albo zwiedzamy zamglone wybrzeże. |
